Applying for the travel voucher is as easy as (1) choosing your program, (2) signing up with NFTY in Israel, and (3) completing a voucher application with RootOne. As soon as program registration opens up we will update the information on our website and email all families who have already registered for a summer with us. Check back soon!
If I have previously received a RootOne travel voucher, am I eligible to apply again?
No. Each teen can only receive one RootOne Voucher. If you have previously received a RootOne Voucher, you are not eligible to apply again. However, other Israel travel scholarships may be available. Find additional scholarship information here.
What are the eligibility Requirements?
All teens who identify as Jewish are eligible for the voucher!
Eligible voucher applicants are currently enrolled in 10th through 12th grade, are Jewish, and are citizens of the United States or Canada. Voucher eligibility is not connected to financial need or merit. If you have previously received a RootOne voucher, you are not eligible to apply again. Eligibility rules are determined by RootOne. For more information, please visit their website.
When will I find out if I receive a voucher?
Once you register for a NFTY in Israel program and the Voucher applications are available, we typically expect RootOne to send notifications within 14 days of receiving your completed registration and voucher application.
Are there any obligations in return for the Voucher?
Voucher recipients must agree to take part in pre- and post-summer engagement programming (~8 hours total) as well as complete a post-program confidential survey. Non-fulfillment of these obligations and/or removal from the program due to a Code of Conduct violation will necessitate repayment of the $3,000 Voucher to NFTY in Israel.
Will I still be eligible for need-based scholarships or other grants?
Yes, you may receive the $3,000 Israel voucher and still be eligible for other forms of scholarship from other funding sources.
Can I register now and change programs later?
Yes! Register for any Israel program of your choice now to qualify for the voucher. If you want to change programs, just email us to request to switch.
How are the $3,000 vouchers being funded?
The vouchers are funded by RootOne. RootOne is seeded through the generosity of The Marcus Foundation and is powered by The Jewish Education Project. Please visit www.RootOne.org for more information.
