International Day of Women & Girls in Science

“I don’t walk into the lab in the morning thinking, ‘I am a woman, and I will carry out an experiment that will conquer the world.’ I am a scientist, not male or female. A scientist.” – Ada Yonath, an Israeli who was the first woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 45 years

In order to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, and further achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, the United Nations General Assembly declared 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science in 2015. Source: UN.org
