The Journey of Sci-Tech Israel

By Corey Brand, Bus 11 Participant

After going to 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy for four years, I really wanted to spend my summer pursuing STEM and Judaism yet again. About a week into the trip, we made our way into the Holy City of Jerusalem. The Old City was breathtaking! We toured the same streets that Jews and others had explored and kept for thousands of years. I approached the Wall, fascinated. I felt honored. The man who laid my tefilin was from two towns away from where I live. I was shocked by our unexpected kesher. Finally, I’m face to face with the wall. I leaned my head and kissed it. I felt as all the people before me had approached this very spot. I was lost in its holiness. I was there for almost an hour, but it felt like just a minute. Finally, I raised my head as the bright sun beamed into my eyes. And I walked away a changed man.

Thank you for reading my story.
