The Trip of a Lifetime

By Jack Steren, NFTY in Israel Participant, Bus 3

NFTY in Israel gave me an excellent opportunity to experience Israel for the first time. This was the trip of a lifetime and I could not be happier with my decision of signing up. I have formed so many new relationships with the other kids I have met, and I know we will all stay in touch. We have gone through so many crazy adventures together such as, hiking and sleeping in the desert for four days, and climbing Masada at 5 in the morning to see the sunrise. We accomplished so many things together, which we never could’ve done alone. Also, we went to the Dead Sea which was awesome because it was so easy to float and it was a lot of fun. This trip has given me such unique experiences. I never thought I would be riding camels at sunset or shooting a gun with my new friends during my Gadna experience where we went to an army base for four days. It was the coolest part of the trip because I was able to see what all Israelis go trough when they are drafted to the army. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will never get again. Finally, between the people I met and the different places we went to I had one of the best summers of my life and I will never forget it.
